Two of the first 105 snapped
September 11, 2009

Snapped with a camera, of course. MWeston has taken possession of some samples from the elusive “first 105″, having passed their tests at the TI factory with honours. He seems rather happy with them, too.
I finally got some production samples that passed testing. These are the best looking boards of all the revisions ever made. The guy in charge of assembly for the Pandora project does such an amazing job!
Click to enlarge, and take in the beauty of an actual, final Pandora board. We’re also told that the TV cables are in transit, so we should be seeing some pics of those… soon.
Ya baby , we are getting close now
Yup – just two more months!
yummy*
can I eat it?
Sorry for the noob question but… MJW Design stands for? MWeston?
Yep.
He must be feeling like a nerdy rockstar right now!
I want my name carved on a board too! I am sure he will hang a board on a wall…
Just get some board etching supplies!
shiny check
green check
whooooo check
Whoop, did want a red one though to remind me of my old Gravis soundcard!
YES !!!
Ok, thats great news, but where are the nubs? Shouldn’t they be soldered on these after massproduction. Are they not tested on the boards?
Craig answers the nub question here:

…he also mentions the TV cables. Looks like MWeston is due to get them today!
Excellent.
these Pics are awesome, but im worried. (is that Metalic Foil Behind the Board O.o, or just anti EMC Bagging?)
Paperdora is on Work Now.
It’s a common or garden anti-static bag, that almost any exposed circuit board is supplied in.
“The first dpads have shipped too (with the final keypads).” – craig
Roadmap updated.
Yes, based on craig’s projection, I expect MW will receive the cables in….wait for it…two months. Craig’s information has been so wildly inaccurate that it has ceased to be useful. His videos are very entertaining however and appreciated. Thanks for the information gruso. This would seem like something that would make the official blog. If they are not going to use it, they should anoint yours as official. Keep up the good work.
I think the new lingo is “two weeks”.
Looking at the boards gave me goosebumps.
Holy hell I think I just skeeted.
Please finnish this handheld before 2012…
God, when I first read that title my heart almost stopped. “Another revision?” I thought. But then I read on and now I’m happy. Two Weeks(tm)!
When I read the headline on the RSS feed, I was like, “‘Two of the first 105 snapped?’ How did they break?” Then I read the article and I was like, “Oh, sweet.”
Also, since the release date is “two weeks” away, I figure we can just use however much longer the “two months” was than an actual two months (sans the final “two weeks”) to figure out how much time is left.
hmm, so how lond does the shipping of the parts take?, since the cases arent finished, the tv cables are somewhere, and the “First” nubs and keypads (what about the others?).
in dont think 2 Weeks(tm) might be possible.
Looks delicious, even on my tiny Blackberry screen. I can’t wait!
Oh my God, that looks so good… when my student loan comes in I might have to pre-order if there’s any left.
Just being curious, since we have a look at the final motherboards, do you think the finished product will be shipping in October 2009.
lol… the title scared me!
I thought: ohno…. 2010
We are almost half way through September and no fully assembled Pandora, even though 105 boards have been made, it’s still possible there may not be enough time left in this year to have them ship in 2009, and it’s possible you could get them after the new year, this is just a guess.
2 weeks(TM) sounds good cant wait till ehm january 2010 to get my pandora XD
(C) MJW Designs?
Anyway, I can’t wait for this. The Christmas season would be the perfect time for release (US).
MJW Designs, huh

Wow, looks like we might get them in another “Two Months” then… deja vu all over again.
This would make them, say, a year overdue past the initial delivery estimate. The information is greatly appreciated, but estimates on this project lost all semblance of credibility six months ago.
it’s called lack of project management.
