SNES: another one for the vault

September 28, 2009

Well, the last week has been pretty slow as far as new videos, but today MWeston delivers the goods! F-Zero, Mario Kart, and Donkey Kong all get plenty of time as our main hardware man shows off Cpasjuste’s port of a GP2X SNES emulator after the break. According to MWeston this is a straight port, with little to no optimization involved, but it’s already eminently playable. Great work!

  1. Look good. Nothing too show that wasn’t expected

  2. Just a note from the silent majority.

I dont post on any forums, but I’m keeping one eye on the blog every few weeks or so, and when the pandora is released, I’ll be saving my cash for one.

I dont need it right now and no, i dont have the capital to help you make it. I’m just waiting.

Just some encouragement to say there are thousands of us, and we’ve told our friends.

    • “…there are thousands of us, and we’ve told our friends.”
This is brilliant! OP team, find a way to use this!

      • There are even thoudands of us having already paid. And I’m pretty sure the devs already knew this ;-) At least I hope they still remember, because it’s nearly a year ago now. And yes, I told my friends and they’re laughing louder and louder: “yeah, surely it will come soon…”

        • Yeah, tell me about it. I’m taunted about this every day for the past year. But pretty soon We’ll have something to show for. Then it better be good!

Mainly I’ll hope to watch stuff on the go. Play on the go even online. Also i hope to VNC my main computer. Then who knows what else.

          • I’m a boring troll.

        • Hope the pandora won’t be crush by cheaper and powerful machine until then…

I realise maybe a netbook would have been better for that price. I don’t really like to play old game anymore since I already did this on my computer or my NDS.

I was more interested by : PMP possibilities, firefox in my pocket, editing possibilities on the fly, chat/voip, play movies on the train to work, stuff like that.
But there isn’t any interesting stuff in that area since they came along with emulators.

  3. Nice one!
It would be great to see other interesting emulator videos on the pandora with some favourite games from the community, eg

    MAME emulator
    games…
Donkey Kong ( I hope everyone here has seen “King Of Kong” and “Chading Ghosts”
    Street Fighter 2 Turbo
    WonderBoy
    Magic Sword

  4. Chading ghosts = Chasing ghosts – beyond the arcade :)

    • Chasing Ghosts is probably the best hour and a bit of video any gamers of a certain vintage can see. Why they drag their heels getting it out on DVD is a mystery.

  5. SNES emu… exactly why I cannot wait for a Pandora!

  6. I really hope this can play cps3 games, SFIII3S on the go would be amazing!

  7. Seems to run at a very good framerate, I wonder how good Starfox would run…

  8. Nice, i was just wondering how are the netplay and wifi driver going?

  9. 8yo Son:What game sis that?
    Monk:I don’t know, but it’s running on a Pandora
8yo Son:Have they even started making those?
Monk:Weeeeeel… it’s a WIP, a prototype Pandora. Though they do keep getting closer to actually making some…

Note:This happened. It’s embarrasing when your 8yo kid is cycnical about the Pandora.

  10. :hwg:

  11. This is not based on a gp2x emulator :p

    • Elaborate.

      :p
