Bet you didn’t know Pmenu could do this! Cpasjuste gives us a peek at Pmenu’s media playing abilities, featuring in-menu previewing and d-pad seeking (XBMC fans, sit back and enjoy the rush of endorphins). It looks like he set this video to upload before grabbing some much needed shut-eye, so we’re a bit short on details like codec support. Stay tuned.

Speaking of Cpasjuste’s wee launcher, who’s been keeping tabs on the Pmenu skin thread? Hint: Good things are happening.

  1. Nice and seamless..

  2. What is with the “fuzzy” outlines?

    • Looks like it’s the skin he’s using.

  3. Gruso – do you ever sleep? Thanks for yet another post.

    • Well, the great thing about gruso is that there are so many of him!

  4. Looks nice, with all the skins people are making over on the forum it’ll look even better :)

  5. The playback looks so smooth :D

  6. mplayer’s the best

smplayer if you’re not a command line junkie

  7. Nice. Still lightyear behind on what XBMC can do. Sorry. Good news is that probably XBMC will be ported. :o )

    • Yeah, I don’t think he’s trying to implement a fully fledged media center here, just a nice quick way to watch a video. From what Skeezix said in the forums, I don’t think Cpas was even expected to do this – he’s just having a bit of fun.

I’m looking forward to XBMC some day too. :)

  8. I hope project m can be included / ported to

  9. Looks good, but I hope that it relies on something fully featured on the backend of things. Like, I hope this actually implements mplayer or something, so that we can play back all sorts of codecs in all sorts of containers with all sorts of features (subtitles etc.).

    • if you look at the OSD when he is going back and forward in the Video it really look’s like he actually is using mplayer for the playback. ;-)

  10. yeh smooth vid :)
