When Cpasjuste put the call out for Pmenu skins three days ago, he might have been expecting a couple of starter themes to accompany his launcher upon release. He got a little more than that. An army of skinners went to work, prodding Cpasjuste for code fixes along the way to produce a respectable first library of skins. Most of these can be considered works in progress, so save your final judgements for unboxing day. Even so, a fine effort from the community so far.

Some of them aren’t to my taste, but they do all look great. It looks like there’s going to be a really nice selection when the Pandoras do ship.

Most of them just need better spacing.

i love the simplicity of top left and the awesomeness of top right.
Wow, great work all involved I like them all, but the black one on the top right stands out the most if i had to pick a favourite but the rest are still awesome
just to be different, I like the one two up from the bottom on the left (white background versus black buttons, more contrasted then the two being hailed by everyone above)
But yeah they all look nice in their own styles, except the purple one, and the lighter purple one. *shudders* purple bad. Purple frightening. Purple Girly!!!

Is there any plan for a girly/pink skin ?
They’re working on skin flipping at the moment which should let the user decide on what side the preview and list go on.
MDave’s also brought out a flipped version of his Platinum skin, which can be found here..

Does PMenu allow for sound or animated bits and pieces? Some whirring gears and the accompanying sounds would be amazing.

If they really want to start 1000 Pandora for the 1er december then we should already know if the current mould version is good and over…
It’s on the way to MWeston now for the final ‘thumbs up’ now as I understand it. If it passes, it should be as simple as a phone call to start production. This is how it goes in my head anyway. Anyone wanna elaborate or set me right if this isn’t it?

“The reason the cases are not yet on the way to Michael is that one mould still had a problem with the shrinking. What’s that, you might ask? Well, due to the big heat and cooling off afterwards, the material shrinks a bit – and if the mould is not perfectly adjusted, it doesn’t fit 100% or will look ugly.
To adjust it perfectly it has to be done a bit via a trial and error method: Check where the shrinking occurs, change the mould there, try again, etc.
It’s nothing major and no problem at all, it’s a normal process in mould creation and shouldn’t take more than a couple of days. We’re still trying to ship as many as possible before christmas!” – Argh! argh argh aargggggggggggh! *faints*

All very nice, and very game oriented. I particularly like the 2nd up on the left – very Stargatesque – but is there any chance of a ‘business friendly’ theme?
I know it would be boring, but something with the important bits presented and allow the user to put in a background picture of the kids or their last vacation. It would make it easier to get away with having a Pandora on my desk at work.
I concur. I was hoping to be able to get away with having this open at meetings. Something that looks similar to the skins here, but with the option to turn off the preview picture or have a constant photo shown.
