25fps is pretty much good enough as far as console games go, if they can squeeze a couple more then they’re basically at what the original was. I must admit that I’m curious as to how reliable that is.
The nubs themselves look really nice, if a bit freakish.
Doesn’t Mario have a tippy-toe animation? The Analog nubs seem like they have a very large amount of motion, so maybe it’s just the software that needs to be tweaked to be able to (easier-ly) finesse the analog?
I.E. the small amount that Craig pushed it, he was in the walk animation instead of the tippytoe.
I agree, this may be a problem. As far as I could tell, it looked quite hard to even make him walk.
What is the point of analog nubs if their movement space is too confined? I am surprised that nobody put this on the to-fix-list together with the shoulder buttons.
Glad the emulators got a show but whenever the commercial-like video is going to be made please don’t use emulators. I heard craig say he owned the game, but that doesn’t sit well in all countries and with most companies anyway (also I saw a Japanese Starfox). I don’t think it’d have any real case that could be brought up but if someone wanted to pick a fight with OpenPandora they probably could…
Agreed. This is thin ice, boys. Those lawyers at Nintendo don’t care if you own the game. To them it’s just as illegal to play it on another device.
Videos from Openpandora itself should probably not have these kind of emulators playing, if you want to be safe. Look what happened to Nokia last week.
The last thing we need is some lawsuit to kill this just before release.
The nubs seem absolutely perfect. Very responsive and just enough room to make them really useful.
The N64 emulators stonking. Can’t believe it’s running that sweet already. I think one of the newer and faster games like Star Wars Episode 1 Racer at the lower (more native) resolution would be a good judge of how close to full speed it actually is
fantastic video!
BTW the music sounding in the background is from Vangelis, I don’t recall the exact name of the song now.
I was thinking the other day it’d be nice having your own music while using any of these demanding emulators. Probably moc (music on console) will be my choice.
niiiiiiiiiice
awesome vid Craig !!!
“2 years” to develop them, not “2 months(TM)”
WOW!
Amazing Pandoras haven’t even been shipped yet and theres already a N64 emulator for it working.

I have a feeling someone is going to leak this video to the blogs. It is just too awesome to contain.
I can’t believe that’s only 2mm. It looks like more than that. The nubs look great.
Conkers bad fur day…. BE PLAYABLE
This video made me happy. if n64 emulation can work with the pandora, then all is well in the world.

Rubbing my own nipples with my eyes closed just isn’t the same
Craig you have the same lamp as I have! from IKEA… Maybe everyone has one of those nowadays
I had that one as well.
However, one day I woke up with a massive hangover and a broken lamp, and haven’t had one like it since.
Strangely enough I smashed the first one I had while drunk too.
huahrrrrr.. i can hear the 70’s funky smooth music, me with an afro haircut and low voice saying: hmmmmhmm baby gonna twist those sweet nubs…” ^^
Soon we’re gonna rule the world with Pandora, muhahahhahahaaahhhhh…

As usual top vid Craig many thanks.
Shouldn’t the higher resolution (880×480) be the more native one?
*(800×480)
he meant native to the n64
Classic Craigx! Thanks old boy.
Wow, one of the most awesome vids yet.

All I really cared about was Mario 64, and here it seems to run almost full speed! I’m so chuffed
Just interested: which input plugin was used?
Awesome job! Great videos as always. Please keep them coming
now we need zelda!
True dat.
OoT:masters quest will by my way to take my pandoras virginity.
Aweeeeeesome!!!
Should have done a barrel roll. Other than that, awesome!
Can’t wait till mine arrives.
In case anyone want to know: the music in the background is from Vangelis and the song is called Pulsar.
And “L’Étranger” was written by Albert Camus. Also in case anyone wants to know… Thanks for the video!
The nubs’ travel distance won’t be moddable, will it?
