Atari ST: full keyboard, full audio, full speed.

Amiga vs Atari soldiers, lay down your swords. The day has been won, on the forums at least. Wasting no time following the arrival of his new (rev3) Pandora, Skeezix has cast away all other priorities to port Atari ST emulator Hatari. The result was so pleasing, so made-for-Pandora, that Craig even used an emoticon. All the best quotes from Skeezix:
Hatari is set to no frameskip, fullscreen, pixel doubling to fill the screen (overscan borders removed), audio on.
This is a fast port with no pandora optimization; not compiled with optimizations (which would speed it up 20%); running regular clock on Pandora (We could overclock another 30%). Using SDL (not as fast as going raw.) On top of X11 full desktop (we could run without X11 for more speed.)
So as you can see, full speed, no frameskip, and not even optimized.
Right away the SDL lib maps the Atari ST keyboard to the Pandora keyboard, and the joystick to the Pandora d-pad and buttons.
Touchscreen maps to mouse right off, which is sexy.
Hatari also can run hard drive images, so you can mount the SD card as a hard drive, and other awesome stuff. Hell, run the MIDI out a USB MIDI device and use Notator/Cubase
I was tempted to geek out and show 3d modelling in mono-ST mode in a CAD, but thats going too far
the games that didn’t work on Outcast/Castaway often work here… Sensible soccer and crazy big RPGs.
It does have various bits of emulation for STE and Falcon, yupyup. Its really quite an amazing piece of work, and this is a full port, not a trimmed down one; get the latest one from sourceforge and fire it up, thats what you’ll have on your pandora
Simply wonderful! Especially given that I planned to finish a lot of Atari games once I get my Pandora!!! Metal Mutant, Gods, Storm Masters, Into the Eagles’s Nest… The list goes on and on.
Sweet. One of my all time fav machines. Just needs samples of a real ST disk drive chugging along during loading. Looking forward to playing Xenon “Sector 1″ on it.

Excellent. I was hoping for an Atari ST emulator for the Pandora. I still use my Falcon as my computer, so having the Pandora as an option for using Atari programs is great. Now I can run Calamus anywhere and work on files while I am away from home. I AM THRILLED. Thanks to all who made this possible.

Excellent! I was just playing Xenon 2 CDTV version on my CD32 yesterday, great music, even better on CD obviously, but looking forward to playing this and Amiga emulators when released!
Never used an ST, I went with the amiga instead but I’ll check it out when my pandy arrives. Great work Skeezix
This is brilliant! Im an Amiga man myself but that doesnt matter…
A. It gives a bench mark for the UAE ports to reach…
and B. I`ll be be putting this on my Pandy as well as UAE because Castaway on my GP2X was superb!

This was an easy port .. Didn’t have to finagle it much. This is the real advantge of a full OS on pandora.. Basic ports are a snap! Refining is still work but no more hackin in the dark ages like gp32… Unless you want to
UAE is muchheavier processing, but should be very good

I don’t want to be picky, but… how about Steem (in the future)?
I liked it a lot; and IMO (if I remember correctly) it was great and (more) user friendly (or was it Hatari/WinSTon?)… Any comparison with Hatari?
