A thing of Beauty: First MP Pandora in the Wild

You saw it here first! Well, not first if you are a regular on the forums, but don’t let that lessen your excitement. If you saw this previous post, you’d know that GP32X.com forum mod X68000 has been volunteering at the assembly site. As a result, today he has walked away with the first End User owned Mass Production Pandora. Before nodding off, he decided to grace us with some pictures he took of his very own Pandora.

Again, a great big thank you to X68000 for the help in getting the Pandora out to all of us, and for taking these pictures.
Craig has also posted a picture of some partially-assembled Pandoras, just waiting to be completed and shipped to lucky Pandorites.

BackAssward Edit: I color-corrected the main pic by hand. It is one of the pics X68000 took, but with manual color naturalization applied.
BackAssward Edit2: “Mr.Confuzed” from GP32X did a better job normalizing the pic, so I put his in place of mine (after I cropped it and resized).
BackAssward Edit3: I hate to keep revising this, but Asmo in the comments gave us an even better edited pic, I had to use it (I cropped it and resized).

Can’t wait till more users & devs get their pandoras/pandori and hope ED will manage the webcam stuff
(+ would be nice if someone could record it – since I can’t be awake 24/h and have to work tuesdays ^^)
Or maybe they’re all Pandora, and his is a singular Pandorum. I think mine will be.

And this is a reason why one of this blogs staff should be on the IRC more often..
Almost all news are instantly linked there and especially the devs show some interesting updates (DJW talking about updates, patches, bugs and important fixes often)
When you say ‘this blogs staff’, do you mean to imply that this blog actually has staff? We are basically volunteers, who share our time as often as we can.
When you say IRC, do you mean the dev/insider channel? I don’t know that any of us have been invited to that one… (Gruso might have been, I can’t say if he has)
The only one I know of is the one linked in the sidebar. I generally don’t have time for IRC. I do have DJW’s blog in my feed list though.

Just in time, I’m starting to figure out pygame and python.
Got it working on my n810, can’t wait to start using it on my Pandora. I’ll probably have a couple things done by then, at least. The reign of the Pandora has begun.
was there a pouch or case? what about the TV cables?
I thought the Pandori were going to be black, but this appears to be some variant of bronze/chocolate. Is my screen out of wack or is this for real? Please let it be real!
I hate to do this again: The lighting is incandescent lighting, which has an orange-brown color. The people taking the pics are just people, not photographers. They don’t know about white balance.
The Case is Black.
Erm..its defo black, the shots are a combo of camera flash and reflection off the surface…

I think the PR sweet spot would be when some handfuls of customers had received their units, so you had a full range of final unit reviews and videos available.

No seeing people getting the thing, i’m getting REALLY restless for the first time in 3 years.
Expect the 89$ Chinese clone to be available before the first shipped one reaches its destination. They are a lot faster when producing for themselves.
What have we learned today?

You definitely did a good job, especially with the upper left part. Though, your pic has a purple hue to it.
I left some orange to represent the light source. It also took me a while to get it cropped and resized to 420×420 so it fit the blog.
As for minding, I can’t say. It wasn’t my pic to begin with.
