Cooking with Craig

September 25, 2011
Posted by: foxblock

Apparently I should point out that there have been two articles posted on the same day (it happens), so on the main page scroll down a bit to find news and details about the business plan.

After EvilDragon took over organizing the Pandora project, Craig found himself a new profession: Cooking.
In this first episode he is trying to create a giant, alcoholic (obviously) Jaffa Cake.
Without trying to spoil anything: You probably won’t learn anything new in terms of cooking (except how to build a “men’s whip”), but it’s beyond hilarious so check it out.

Also the tag “Episode 1″ promises more future adventures from the kitchen.

Help fund the XStylus

You have not heard of the XStylus yet? Don’t worry, it has been a product in development just trying to make the move into production.
On first glance the XStylus is an ordinary stylus, but you can flip one half of it and lock it into the other part to extend the stylus in length and diameter (demonstrated in the above video).
That way you get more grip as its shape becomes more similar to a pen.

As said before, GreenBulb (the company behind this product) wants to mass-produce the stylus, but needs your help as it’s expensive to just start the production (creating the moulds for example).

Only two months – Comic

December 2, 2010

A short comic strip about the Pandora (thumbnail)
Here is some Pandora related fun in-between.
While surfing the web I found the above comic (click for full view).

Well, of course that is not the original (you can find it here on the Escapist), but the joke fits well nevertheless.

And because I know you guys can do better, here is an exploitable version of the comic:
Download PNG (1,3MB)

Post your edited version in the comments, I will feature the best ones in an update.

You can find the font here:

[musical interlude] All you need is nubs

Is the wait for the nubs driving people just a little bit crazy? You be the judge. A couple of weeks ago, forum member Perry Cox gave up several minutes of his life to rework some Beatles lyrics into “All you need is nubs.” He firmly stated that he would not be doing a rendition on Youtube, but a trainee at ED’s production company caught wind of the post and decided to put his skills to the task. Result above. Lyrics below. Dare you to not smile at this.

Off topic: The Humble Indie Bundle

May 10, 2010

This isn’t Pandora news, but with your help it could be. The Humble Indie Bundle, if you haven’t already seen it on every gaming site in the universe, is a limited time promotion in support of Child’s Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Wolfire Games invites you to pay whatever you like for a bundle of legendary indie games containing World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru, Penumbra, and now Samorost 2. Versions are available for Linux, Mac and Windows, and it’s all DRM free.

These versions won’t run on your Pandora of course, which leads us to the latest development. It’s now being reported that if the total donation pool hits $1m, the source code for Gish, Penumbra and Lugaru will be released to the public – opening up the possibility of Pandora versions should someone take on the porting job. The total is currently at over $800k, but the promotion ends some time in the next 24hrs! So get on it, and badger your mates to get on it too. You’ll be supporting some very worthy causes and getting some sweet games to boot.

Ze link again: Humble Indie Bundle

Thanks to “death wears a big hat” for signing up on GP32X to let us know.

Retro Pandora makeovers we wish were real

October 28, 2009

News this isn’t, but gosh, it just had to be shared. Asmo, fellow Pandorian and frequent blog commenter, has produced a series of retro themed Pandora makeovers paying homage to the greatest home computers of the 80s (and their boisterous advertisements). If at least one of these images doesn’t melt your heart, you’re doing it wrong. Asmo’s work along with many other er, creations can be found in the aptly titled thread “I think I’ve went insane“. Case modders, are you taking notes?

New blog feature: Unofficial Roadmap

August 4, 2009

roadtopandora

The roadmap is back. Unofficially, anyway. With the case mould a good fortnight into production, it looks like the dreaded Two Months meme may have finally breathed its last. But these things are easy to miss if you don’t drop by daily, so now there’s a one-click status page for those flying visits. We’ll do our best to keep it current, and well sourced. Eyes right, soldier. >_>

Craig uploaded a neat video showing off an unrelated Chinese PSP clone and an early cardboard mockup Pandora (starting at ~1:40)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and there’s also an assembled (real) Pandora in there too :)

Video after the break.
