Cpasjuste has uploaded a video of Android running on the Pandora. Android is an operating system that was originally developed by an independent company and later brought by Google. Android is a popular operating system for smart phones.
This is my first attempt to port android to the pandora, touch screen support in the work.

A long time ago, a guy called MarkoeZ began thowing together a cheeky adaptation of Joust for the PandoraPanic minigame project. As reported in the recent software roundup, Panjoust has now transcended its humble beginnings to become a standalone title, with a second graphic artist on the team and a sublime soundtrack by Nick May (if you like Ennio Morricone, you’ll like Nick May). The above video, though labelled as just a tech demo, is the first to showcase all these talents in the mix together. This is what homebrew collaboration looks like when it all goes right.

It’s been an exhausting week for F5 fingers across the globe, and it’s only Wednesday. What the bloody ‘ell did happen to the cases? EvilDragon doesn’t have all the answers, but he does lift the fog for a moment to give us some insight into the whole China thang. If you’re all cased out for now, skip to the end for some nice OS news.
(Oh, for those concerned about the Pandora case received by Notaz in the previous post, don’t be. That case is the very one that Craig abused horribly for science, hence the various stress fractures. You too can have these cracks in your Pandora, but you’ll have to pay Craig in vodka and funny hats to do the damage for you. Keen?)

The time has come for another homebrew roundup. Many interesting projects have appeared since the last homebrew feature, including some frequently requested titles and some unexpected gems. Note that a number of entries are marked (WT) for Working Title – if you have naming suggestions for any of these games, get your word heard!

In this video, two men we don’t know play Quake 3 on their N900 Nokias, online, thanks to an oven fresh port of the ioquake3 engine. Why do you care? Because the N900 and Pandora share a heart & soul – the OMAP3530. “But we already have Quake 3, let me dig up those twenty videos.” Yes we do, but ioquake3 is a little more than that. Think of it as Quake 3.5, a feature enhanced animal that has been in active development since the Q3 engine went open source in 2005. This opens a welcoming door to MDave & crew’s Pandora port of Zeq2lite, and in theory, a range of other titles including Tremulous, Urban Terror and Smokin’ Guns (each of which would need to be ported separately). Oh, did we mention that Pickle not only reported this news to the forums, but already has ioquake3 running on Pandora? No? Yeah.

Only a Pandora developer could make a bunch of empty boxes sound enticing. As the latest test cases make their way to Canada for evaluation, EvilDragon briefs us on what we hope are the final stages of this long, nutty journey. (Some of this stuff you’ll know from a recent MWeston post). All aboard the hype train then Try to contain your excitement though, as we wait to find out if the light at the end of the tunnel is a green one.
This week should be an interesting week. The next (and hopefully final) sample cases should arrive at Michaels place. We’re all excited, as they will look so much better than the already good-looking cases we already got.
In the meantime, while it has been quiet around here, a lot of other things have happened.

A dump n’ run update from the frontlines, to break the eerie post-weekend silence.
Craigix: Just a little update to say the cases are still on schedule to be completed this week.
Jumpman: So the last “test” cases had all the technical problems fixed right? So these new test cases(rev.3), are only to improve on the finish quality right?
Craigix: Yes, this one is just a general clean up of a few things and a slightly bigger test run, it will be coming with keymats too so we can build up quite a few units.

MWeston has given us a pair of videos. In the first, the D-Pad is demonstrated with the Street Fighter (or vice versa, depending on your point of view).
In the second, Quake II is demonstrated using both nubs (and a downclock to 500mhz).

“I have the need for tools that solve my problem in a very specific way … when I don’t find such tools, I make them myself.”
Such is the philosophy of David Flemström (aka Dflemstr), and a slick new launcher called Panorama is the result. Whipped up in his sleep using C++ and Qt 4.6.1, this powerful alternative to Pmenu is shown above in just one possible incarnation. Other Panorama modes shown off so far include “Pmenu mode“, the magnificent Magma theme, and a special treat for the mega-minimalists out there.

OpenGL czar Adventus has served up some new Mupen64Plus footage, a little low in the definition department but still smooth enough to make you slide off your seat. Let us journey now, to a time when Rareware were kings.

The recent reports on Pandora’s case design and controls have been nothing short of glowing. It’s pretty satisfying information for the most part; there is no doubt that what we’re hearing from the team is genuine delight in what they’ve achieved. But the question has been asked – what would some guy off the street think of it? (What, is the youthful exuberance of a Newcastle upon Tyne rooftop matinee not enough for you? Fair enough then.)
Well, the day has come. Last week, both Craig and EvilDragon invited forum users to their homes (seriously) to see Pandora for themselves. This resulted in two great things. One, the image above. Two, a 500km train journey to ED’s lair undertaken by guy-off-the-street Balzac2m. Sadly, Balzac2m couldn’t bring a Pandora back with him. But he did bring back a detailed 2,300 word report. Are you seated? Let’s begin.

A stone’s throw from the noodle scoffing British Isles, lies a mythical land of tidy desks and utopian muzak. Out of this land today comes a video, the third in a series of Pandora OS Snippets from EvilDragon. This time around we take a more detailed look at .pnd files, their data folders, and where you want them to appear. The video concludes with a brief demo on ED’s new Pandora. This article concludes with another Die Hard reference.
“You ask for miracles, Theo, I give you the P. N. D.”

Craig demonstrates some breakout board and terminal action, busts out some MAME, clears up a few hinge facts, then leaves us clawing at the screen wanting more. All in a day’s work, really.
Oh, just in case you missed the edit in the previous post, ED has upped some nice high-res pics of his Pandora on the official blog.

Chances are that some time in the last year, you’ve sat a moment and pondered just how exciting it’s going to be your Pandora arrives. If we’ve learned anything today, it’s that the Pandora team themselves pretty much feel the same way. When Craig’s Pandora turned up today (fresh from MWeston’s microwave), he didn’t just start the kind of thread we all hope to post in soon, he stayed up until 5am to give us some video. Good show.
