When a photo of the latest board revision was posted a few days back, a handful of commenters pondered the possibility of a labelled version. The GP32X trainspotters had actually done this before, on a much older revision. So a new request went out on the forums, and the community got busy once again. And how! Click the image above and you won’t just get a high resolution version, you’ll get a space-age interactive experience with enough hotlinked reading material to sink a brick shiphouse. Thanks go out to all contributors, with special honours to wea0 for digging up the bulk of the part numbers, urjaman for putting together the clicky version, and LeChuck87 for re-hosting it.
Please note that this is 100% unofficial. It has not been endorsed or confirmed correct by OP Ltd. If you’re planning on building your own Pandora from this diagram, you’ll have to figure out what’s on the other seven PCB layers. Ha.

MWeston’s Photobucket account has revealed a new picture: the Rev 5a Pandora board. This includes some new solder pads (serial pads near the EXT port, and I2C pads near the wireless chip), and various other thingies.
Update: Never content to leave a question unanswered, pandoratoday.de blogger Screeny dropped Michael Weston a line to ask what this 5th board revision is all about. The reply:
Hi,
There is not much to say. We made 105 rev4 boards. I tweaked a couple things and added a lot more test points, then called it rev5.
Rev5 is the paying customer’s board, rev4 [was] for testing and for devs to work with.
Michael
In other words, the thousand(s) we know to be in production already are the same revision that we see here.

ED has posted another post on the official blog:
Well, Michael has already begun to wrap up one of those LCD cables in a nice shield. Those foils are REALLY thin, so there’s nothing we need to change with the case. It’s an easy fix.
The other thing you might want to know is that we placed our order for the production of those 3895 boards. Yep, mass production of the motherboards has started!
Now all that’s left to do is wait for the chinese company to finish the moulds. Yeeha!
Good news all around!

Snapped with a camera, of course. MWeston has taken possession of some samples from the elusive “first 105″, having passed their tests at the TI factory with honours. He seems rather happy with them, too.
I finally got some production samples that passed testing. These are the best looking boards of all the revisions ever made. The guy in charge of assembly for the Pandora project does such an amazing job!
Click to enlarge, and take in the beauty of an actual, final Pandora board. We’re also told that the TV cables are in transit, so we should be seeing some pics of those… soon.

Video? That was so last week. Thankfully things are always rolling behind the scenes, HD eye candy or no HD eye candy. And Craig spake:
I hope to have a more recent prototype, with the MP nubs this coming week.
So the last one is old news.
The board tests look good. A bigger run is about to happen, the boards from this run will be used in final consoles.

Following on from the recent display of Pandora’s primary colours (har), we now have some very texty elaboration on which board revision is which. If wading through the spicks n’ specs isn’t your thing, jump to the end for a clue or two about the status of all things. Over to MWeston:
ver 1.0 – rev1 – blue – TEST – no wifi/bt, just a test board to get things rolling, learned a lot here and then rev2 changed a whole whack of things to be much, much better
ver 1.1 – rev2 – red – NEAR FINAL PROTO – wifi/bt, batt connector, basically ready to look like a production board but had errors and needed holes moved to line up with final case design
ver 1.2 – rev3 – green – PRE-PRODUCTION – added battery fuel gauge for better battery control and longer battery life, this is another test board that was supposed to be the same board going into production but Notaz and I found some quirks in the OMAP3 chip (such as GPIO’s only being GPI’s!!!)

EvilDragon has updated the official blog with a mixed bag of minor updates. First up is a video of Heroes of Might & Magic 2 running on Pandora, courtesy of Cpasjuste Pickle (oops). Some words from ED and a wee craft project follow.
