There’s something for (nearly) everyone in this video, as Skeezix shows off his own apps Kronos and BattleJewels, launches a video in Mplayer (don’t worry, there is a GUI for that, he’s just not using it), and throws in a bit of file browsing and PND recognition for good measure. He also gives us his take on the current state of software, in the brief text below.
Some real-world stuff here
When EvilDragon posted some status updates, some folks loved it, some did not — its a new device, a niche target, for hackers and joe public alike. Some features are rough around the edges, but most of the device works great. Still, thought I’d show a few real world scenarios – run a couple games and apps.

MWeston has given us a pair of videos. In the first, the D-Pad is demonstrated with the Street Fighter (or vice versa, depending on your point of view).
In the second, Quake II is demonstrated using both nubs (and a downclock to 500mhz).

EvilDragon has posted the first of a series of videos showcasing the operating system on the Pandora. In the same post on the official blog, he also drops a little update on the status of the cases from China.
While you’re all waiting for the final Pandora case which should arrive within the next hours at Michael’s place.
Now, let’s all fantasize that we’re starting up our Pandoras for the first time:

Bet you didn’t know Pmenu could do this! Cpasjuste gives us a peek at Pmenu’s media playing abilities, featuring in-menu previewing and d-pad seeking (XBMC fans, sit back and enjoy the rush of endorphins). It looks like he set this video to upload before grabbing some much needed shut-eye, so we’re a bit short on details like codec support. Stay tuned.
Speaking of Cpasjuste’s wee launcher, who’s been keeping tabs on the Pmenu skin thread? Hint: Good things are happening.

Well, the last week has been pretty slow as far as new videos, but today MWeston delivers the goods! F-Zero, Mario Kart, and Donkey Kong all get plenty of time as our main hardware man shows off Cpasjuste’s port of a GP2X SNES emulator after the break. According to MWeston this is a straight port, with little to no optimization involved, but it’s already eminently playable. Great work!

High-quality version also available.

No sooner does MWeston have the goods delivered to his door, he begins deliverin’ ‘em to ours. This is the second TV out test broadcasted from north of the border, but the first to showcase the sweet snap-in action of a mass production cable. Hit the HQ button for maximum maxness, then celebrate with some (unrelated) 70’s metal.

It must be said, last time we announced an impending video based on a passing comment, it didn’t end so well. But here at op.wp we’re addicted to mayhem, and if you’re reading this, you are too. Go on, admit it. This little sequence of craigix communicoids goes from promising to amusing to promising again, and seemed worth sharing. First came the tweet:
Doing a new Pandora software roundup video with the latest wares. Going well.
Then a comment on the forums. It turns out a certain fruit-emblazoned box of tricks took issue with Craig’s ext2 formatted SD card.
I just made the mistake of putting one of the Pandora SD cards in to a mac. It seems the mac, being a mac, thought it would be a good idea to do something macish to the SD card which has now caused it not to work in the Pandora anymore.
Great. Let’s see if I can solve this on the PC.

In one of craigixs craziest videos yet; after losing to gravity craig gives us a quick update on the situation of the next Pandora video and reassures us that he’s working hard at it.
(Pandora part starts at 4:54 if you’re in a hurry)

Craig uploaded a neat video showing off an unrelated Chinese PSP clone and an early cardboard mockup Pandora (starting at ~1:40)
EDIT: Oh yeah, and there’s also an assembled (real) Pandora in there too
Video after the break.

Here be the latest entry from Craig in this week’s series of Youtubes. And here’s what it contains, in high definition text:
Here is a fun video showing a broad range of Pandora Games, both 2D and 3D as well as a little keyboard action. Quake 3 is on HIGH DETAIL. It goes quite a bit faster on lower, but I can’t resist pushing the Pandora
The keyboard isn’t great as my case is an old prototype one and the keypad is a little low on the back row, but it still works fine.
I could not get Descent working with the controls in time and wanted to get this posted, sorry.
No nub action as my prototype is too old (the nubs have outdated firmware).
GP32X discussion
Extra thing: MWeston posted the following in the Youtube comments, with regard to nub firmware:
We’re about to test new nub firmware as the boards currently have some bug in them that makes the coordinates go nuts after a little bit of use. Craig is waiting on the success of that before re-implementing analog control. Pickle will be the main man on those tests very soon (if the bug truly is fixed!), with help from me.

Craig has a complete Pandora prototype, and celebrates with a romantic stroll in the British countryside. Tune in for console size comparisons, more XMMS (media player) action, productivity software including full keyboard use, and an unfortunate sporting injury. Please note that the Comic SansIx font on the keypad is not final.
(Thanks Blendenzo for the media player correction.)

It looks live we’ve got our first video from MWeston. He’s assembled his final prototype (including the lightpipe). In this video he shows us the unit from boot, to a warm cup of Quake.

You can’t say you’re not excited now.
Update: A few people have been asking about the small gap along the front, where the case doesn’t seem to go together fully. As MWeston explains, it’s due to the chunky prototype keymat:
. . . that stiff, basically unusable keymat is pretty unforgiving inside the case. The PCB should line up with the top of the SD card slot holes but it sits low and you can see the board edge a bit through the slot opening so that right there creates a gap in the two halves. More proof of this can be seen with the nubs that are sitting a bit low and that is because the keymat keeps the board from getting close enough to the top plastic (and sitting flush on its mounting pegs).

A new post from EvilDragon on the official blog…
Hi,
I told you, cpasjuste is currently working on a simple and clear launcher, using skeezix libpnd to work with PXML.
cpasjuste just posted a small sneak preview of the menu, you can see how PXML works (showing icons in categories, preview pictures, etc.).
skeezix libpnd is already pretty advanced. Together with vimacs, he made it possible for EVERY dev to easily use PXML and therefore, automatically add games and programs into the right categories as soon as you put an SD card into the slot!
We will show a video with that feature included into the matchbox UI as well soon!
Now onto some news on the case: The company is working on it already, however, a few files got errors while exporting them. We are working together to fix them, should only take a couple of days.
Just to clarify, the video you’re about to see is not the shiny Angstrom GUI we’ve already seen, but a stripped back launcher alternative for the minimalist crowd. Think of it as the new Gmenu2x.
