I'm going to FOSDEM, the Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting
In case Replay Expo was not near you, there is another opportunity coming up to meet the team behind OpenPandora (okay, so far only EvilDragon): The Free And Open-Source Software Developers’ European Meeting or FOSDEM in short.
It will take place in Brussels, Belgium on the 4th and 5th of February.
EvilDragon will hold a talk about the Pandora on Sunday the 5th (12:40 to 13:25) and you will also have the opportunity to meet Ivanovic and several other people of the Wesnoth and Frogatto development team in the Hackers Room.
Several other community members will surely be there, too (the crowd is just gathering).

The Battle for Wesnoth

You like turn-based strategy games? You like the medieval times? You like to dress up as a knight and fight other people? You like hexagons?
If you answered some of the above questions with “Yes” this game is made for you.

“The Battle for Wesnoth” (or simply called “Wesnoth”) had been around for quite a long time and most of you might know it already, so I will cut the introduction short.
It is a turn-based strategy game slightly similar to Civilization, but instead of putting the building-a-city-part in the foreground it focuses on the important bit: The fighting. You will control a hero and multiple other units like knights, bowmen or mages (out of a pool of over 200) against an android or human opponent (yes, there is a LAN and even internet option) in a turn-based battle for glory or humiliation.

Wesnoth has a great amount of content: There are multiple factions, many different campaigns (all with their own story line), a multi-player mode and for anyone still not satisfied there even is a built-in add-on browser to get user-made content from the net.
The game is not only free to play, but also free to edit (you can get the source code under the GNU license) and many different users have already contributed their work to the main game over the years.

So as you can see it is quite a big package of fun, but it comes with a price: A 300MB download that is.

You can grab the latest version 1.8.3 (hot off the press) as a nice pnd package here:

Thanks to ivanovic for porting it to the Pandora!
